They are mainly used in residential applications whit flow rates of up to 100 liters per minute. They are also widely used in the food industry and for technological uses. Non-toxic plastic construction: High chemical resistance. These housing are characterized by threaded brass inserts, O-ring in EPDM and air bleed valve placed directly on the head. The two-piece structure provides the container with high strength. Recommended maximum operating pressure: 8 bar. For applications where there is a likelihood of sudden increases in pressure, the use of a pressure reducer or a pressure compensator is recommended. Max instantaneous differential pressure: 2.0 bar.

How to choose the perfect filter for your needs?

1) The first thing you need to do in order to choose your filter is thinking about the goals you want to achieve.

2) Chose your housing based on the flow.

3) Normally the size of home-residential filters is standard. They are distinguished by the height and width of the container/housing.

4) You have to chose the cartridge based on the filtration you want to obtain. The degree of filtration is expressed in microns of a millimeter and it indicates the granulometry of the solids that the filter can retain during the flow of water.

5) To find out when an FA or PP filter needs to be replaced, the cartridge must be monitored. The wrapped wire or polypropylene cartridges get dirty almost immediately and you can not rely only on the external color.
N.B. Always mark in a log the last time you changed the filter. This memo will serve you to make an annual average.

5 micron filter cartidges for water - activated carbon

To dissolve the limestone normally present in the water it is preferable to install a polyphosphate salt filter.

Properly cleaning of cartridge filters

1) When the washable mesh cartridge is dirty it get clogged, decreasing the flow of water. In case of network breakage the water flow increases but with it also the dirt of the water.

2) When the pleated cartridge is dirty it tends to become clogged, decreasing the flow of water; but if the network breaks, the flow of water increases.

3) The wire wound filter cartridge when it is dirty tends to widen the filter mesh, passing solids with a larger particle size.

4) When the meltblown polypropylene cartridge is dirty, it clogged and the flow of water decreases considerably.

Filter maintenance

1) The washable mesh cartridge can be cleaned many times until the network is irreparably damaged. The cartridge can be cleaned with the aid of soapy water or with simple compressed air.

2) The pleated cartridge is more fragile than the mesh cartridge. Its cleaning is done with compressed of air or hot water. It can be carried out until the filter is broken.

3) If the wire wound filter cartridge is not particularly torn, it can be cleaned several times with hot water.
4) The polypropylene cartridge must be replaced if it gets dirty.
